तंत्र एक ऐसा शब्द जिसका हमेशा ही उपयोग नकारात्मक रूप से किया जाता है चाहे वह इसके विषय में जनसामान्य को कोई ज्ञान ना होने के कारण हो या इसकी द्वारा किए जाने वाले गलत कामों के कारण हो लेकिन तंत्र विद्या भारत की एक ऐसी प्राचीन विद्या है जिसकी मदद से मनुष्य का जीवन सरल हो जाता है और वह मोक्ष की ओर अग्रसर हो जाता है 

तंत्र का शब्दार्थिक अर्थ होता है एक प्रणाली, प्रणाली किसी कार्य को संपन्न करने की हम हमारे मनुष्य शरीर में होने वाली कई प्रणालियों के विषय में जानते हैं जैसे कि स्वास तन्त्र पाचन तंत्र आदि

तंत्र का उद्भव भारतीय हिंदू परंपरा से हुआ था तंत्र का वर्णन वेदों में और कई ग्रंथों में मिलता है जैसे कि रावण संहिता अगम-निगम तंत्र ग्रन्थ आदि । ग्रंथों में यह जानकारी मिलती है की सबसे पहले तंत्र का ज्ञान भगवान शिव ने माता पार्वती को दिया था उसके बाद यह ज्ञान अलग-अलग गुरु परंपराओं के अनुसार आगे की पीढ़ियों को मिलता रहा आज तंत्र में अलग-अलग रूप परंपराओं के हिसाब से कई बदलाव किए गए हैं और सभी के अलग-अलग मार्ग बन गए हैं जैसे कि शैव संप्रदाय शाक्त संप्रदाय वैष्णव संप्रदाय गाणपत संप्रदाय कोई संप्रदाय अघोर संप्रदाय आदि हालांकि यह सभी तंत्र की शाखाएं एक ही जड़ से निकली है फिर भी इन में तौर तरीके अलग-अलग हैं तंत्र को अलग-अलग संप्रदाय होने अलग अलग गुणों के आधार पर विभाजित करा है कुछ संप्रदायों में तंत्र के विधान सतोगुण है तो किसी में तमोगुण ई तो किसी में रजोगुण

 तंत्र -  इस शब्द का मूल शब्द तन है पदार्थ जो हम हमारे शरीर से करते हैं । अथार्त भौतिक रूप से घटित होने वाली क्रिया ।

मंत्र इस शब्द का मूल मन है पदार्थ जो हम मन से करते हैं। मंत्र ऐसे शब्दों का समूह होता है जिनसे वायुमंडल में ध्वनि तरंगें पैदा होती है और इन ध्वनि तरंगों से इच्छित शक्तियां आकर्षित होती है ।

यन्त्र - यंत्र का सरल भाषा में अर्थ कोई मशीन होता है पर तंत्र की भाषा में देखें तो यंत्र का अर्थ कुछ विशेष आकारों और कुछ विशेष अंको के द्वारा बनाए गए चित्रों में लिया जाता है

Tantra & Shatkarm in reference with scriptures

There are several scriptures of tantra are available in today's date. But it has also been said that most of the ancient tantra scriptures were burnt down invaders in Takshshila and many were stolen by buddhists , as today if you might have seen buddhist tantra granths . you can easily find signs of vedic tantra . Buddhist adapted hindu's kaul tantra practices and named it vajrayan tantra

Almost every tantra granth is written in form of conversation between two. Whether it may be between shiva and shakti , bhairava and bhairavi or someone else. Tantra shashtras are aagam shashtra , their knowledge could only be transferred to one another only either by listening or by guru's words. Shiva first gave knowledge of tantra to his consort devi shakti. Later on it was transferred down to disciples according to their guru parampara.

Apart from these there is a special type of tantra known to us , Shabar Tantra. Shabar tantra in comparison with vedic tantra is less complex and mantra of shabar tantra are found in local languages of India like Malvi , Marathi , Punjabi , Bengali etc. where as vedic mantras are in sanskrit and have complex rituals for a normal person with zero to minimum knowledge of tantra. We will discuss more about shabar tantra in future posts. 

Though there are so many types of tantra but main motive behind each of them was same - Public interest ( JanKalyan / Lok - hit ).

Tantra is divided into 6 major categories according to its use. The six categories are - Maaran , Mohan , Sthambhan , Ucchatan , Vidveshan , Vashikaran . There are also few other categories which are Shanti Karm , Sammohan , Traasan .

# Stambhan - It means astriction , to restrict something .

types of stambhan are - Buddhi Stambhan ( restricting mind thinking and performing capabilities ) , Mukh Stambhan ( Restricting someone to speak ) , Shatru Stambhan

#Maaran - To kill , killing enemy , killing a supernatural power / ghosts ( pret maran )

#Ucchatan - Ucchatan refers to dettaching something from something which it was attracted towards .

For an example - 

1. a girl is attracted towards a boy . A tantrik can use ucchatan tantra to separate both 

2. A man who has occupied someone's house property and refusing to empty it . Uchchatam tantra can come handy to make him run from the place 

#Mohan - Mohan is tantric practice of being attractive to someone / a crowd . A point to ve noted here is it is different from vashikaran in several ways . The deity / power that works in these rituals is called mohini.

Several mohan tantra practices include -

Sabha mohan - used to become charming in a meeting or community.

Targeted mohan prayog - the prayog is target toward a single person . To whom the doer wishes to attract towards him 

#Vidhveshan - the root word for vidhveshan is "dwesh" द्वेष. This tantra is used to make two persons blood thirsty enemies of each other . 

So finally we come down to the most talked and most controversial one - 

#Vashikaran - Vashikaran is the tantra sect that tends to make someone subdued towards the performer of the tantra . This is often related to sex . 

Vashikaran prayog creates sexual desires in the mind of the one , on whom the tantra is performed .

These six types of tantra are called "Shatkarm" षट्कर्म ।

Sometimes you'll also come across two other types of tantra category .

Shanti Karm & Aakarshan

#Shanti Karm - Shanti means Colling down . This refers to treating the one who is suffering from tantra or any other issue .

#Akarshan - It is a sub category of mohan tantra . It means attraction in simple words .

Tantra and it's aspects

Tantra , a word which has always been used in a negetive manner . Wether it may be because of very little knowledge about it in the society or because of the dark side of tantra .

Tantra in easy words mean a system . System to perform something. We have learned of tantras of our body . Respiratory system ( svaas tantra / स्वास तन्त्र ) , Digestion

system ( Paachan tantra / पाचन तंत्र )

So we can confuse that tantra refers to a system of processess and method to perform a certain task.

Tantra emerged from Hindu background . As it has also been mentioned in Vedas and other ancient granths like Raavan Samhita , Uddameshwar Tantra etc.

Its been said Lord shiva passed this knowledge of tantra to goddess parvati and from there on it has been passed from one to another according to Guru Parampara ( succession of gurus ) . 

It has now been branched into many different paths accordingly . Most common tantra paths are - Shaiv , Vaishnav , Shaakt , Ganpatya , Kaul , Aghora and many more . Although these all branches have emerged from the same root but they all tend to have different traditions and way of performing tantra . 

Tantra , Mantra and Yantra

Tantra - This is the physical performing done by our body . Root word is 'Tan' ( तन्त्र ) which is a hindi word meaning the body . 

Mantra - Mantras are the sacred sounds which when chanted to a specific frequency generate energy field . Mantras are usually said to be related to Mind ( Man / मन ) . 

Yantra - In general words Yantra translates to a machine . But in tantra , yantra are sacred geometrical shapes , sometimes also filled with numbers or sometimes just combination of certain geometrical shapes . For example a triangle and a up side down triangle makes Durga Yantra .
